COBOC has worked closely with the Birmingham City Council recreation and education departments. We have been successful in promoting orienteering in schools, youth groups, and the inner city areas. Traditional city parks and small areas of urban woodland have been used to bring newcomers to the sport.
COBOC is currently organising monthly Schools and Family Events on Saturday afternoons in various parks in Birmingham. The aim of this is to attract more people into orienteeing and to set up a Primary and Secondary School League. For more details click on Future Events

COBOC is now an accredited CLUBMARK club for the next 4 years (from May 2016) subject to an annual review. Clubmark is an accreditation scheme which demonstrates that COBOC is committed to providing orienteering in a safe and efficient way for all those who take part. At a COBOC Committee Meeting held on 12/12/12 we agreed to adopt a number of important BOF Policies including O Safe - a guide to safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults in Orienteering.
